CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

In my second year of architecture, I think that I have enough time to think about improving some things in my study program.

First of all, I think that the curriculum is fine, however I think some subjects are not learned much, although this also depends a lot on the teacher. The curriculum should teach design programs, which are very necessary in the career, and in my opinion give more hours to the history course. The academic load on some occasions is quite a lot, especially in the workshop, however the faculty has made some efforts to change this situation, although there are still some things to change.

The infrastructure of the faculty is quite deficient in several aspects, many improvements are missing to make it meet the standards of an architecture faculty, for example a better dining room for students and better study rooms, although it is great to study in a faculty with so much history like FAU. There is also a problem with computer rooms, they are few for the number of students that the faculty has, causing that not everyone can use them at the required time, the ideal would be to make another computer room with more technology for work.

Finally the teaching method of the teachers has improved in some aspects. In the two years that I have been, the teachers have been a little more empathetic when it comes to explaining their classes, therefore I hope that this will continue and improve over the years for future generations.

In conclusion, my study program still has many errors that can change, however I think that during the years some difficulties have changed in a better way, such as the curriculum, however the most complex difficulty is that of the infrastructure, since it is very deteriorated, therefore I hope that it improves as it has been done with other problems, to have a great faculty of architecture.

  1. Ironically the worst critics about the architecture faculty are related to the infrastructure problems
